56th Maharashtra Rajya Sanskrit Natya Spardha was held at Pune from from 16th to 20th January 2017. This year, 20 Sanskrit one-act plays were staged during this competition. Harshada Sawarkar, Assistant Professor (Ad-hoc) – Department of Sanskrit, University of Mumbai secured Second Prize for Drama Writing for the drama चरैवेति चरैवेति  in this competition.
