The Internship Program Report
The Internship Program at The Department of Sanskrit Library, University of
Mumbai was designed by the Department of Sanskrit in the month of July and
August -2023 to focus on the practical facet of the library functioning and services.
This internship program helped students to relate their theoretical knowledge with
practical working experience. It helped students of Somaiya college and
Mumbadevi college, Mumbai in acquiring practical working experiences in
different sections of the library as an intern for the partial fulfillment of B. A. and
M. A. (Sanskrit). Total 14 students completed the internship program. The Interns worked under the supervision of Dr. Medha Deshpande. They learnt
shelving of the publications, checked and arranged the old and new books in the
library. They worked on the mcq’s on different topics like Ramayana,
Mahabharata, Puranas, Vedas, Vedangas, Darshanashatra, Mythology, Bhakti,
Mysticism, Classical and Modern Sanskrit literature, Grammar, Arthashastra,
Yogashastra, Ancient Indian Knowledge system etc. Dr. Shakuntala Gawde (Head
of the Department) guided the students regarding library work.
