Entrance exam for M.A. Sanskrit 2017-18

Department of Sanskrit, University of Mumbai conducts entrance exam for M.A. Sanskrit on 24th August at 11.00 a.m. Eligibility for entrance exam is graduation in any faculty.
MA (Sanskrit) is divided into four semesters. First two semesters have compulsory subjects like Sanskrit poetry, Darshana literature, Indological studies, Vedic literature, Poetics, Sanskrit grammar etc.
Semester III offers ten electives– Veda, Vedanta, Alamkara, Vyakarana, Dharmashastra-Arthashastra, Arsha Mahakavyas-Puranas, Indology, Modern Sanskrit Literature, Darshana Literature and Classical Sanskrit Literature. Semester IV offers inter disciplinary papers in Ancient Indian Arts, Ancient Indian Knowledge Systems, Indian Aesthetics, Narratology-theory and application, Yoga and Meditation. Department has designed skill based papers like Alamkaras and Vruttas, Creative writing, Translation studies and Zala Vedanta to improve abilities of students pertaining to language, research and analysis.
