Five MA courses to be offered from the academic year 2023-24

1) MA in Sanskrit (with 7 specialization options- Veda, Vedanta, Vyakarana, Alamkara, Classical Sanskrit Literature, Arsha Mahakavya and Puranas, Pracin Bharatiya Rajaneeti)

2) MA in Classical Sanskrit Literature

3) MA in Yogashastra

4) MA in Arthashastra

5) MA in Epics and Puranas

* Eligibility- For Course no.1- 1. B.A. Sanskrit or Students who were offered at least two papers in Sanskrit      carrying 200 marks at Undergraduate level

2. Graduation in any faculty + Entrance Examination

(Note-Those who are graduated in Sanskrit need not appear for this entrance exam) applicable for MA Sanskrit)

 For Course no. 2 to 5- Bachelor’s Degree in any faculty + Entrance Exam

Date of entrance examination: 7th July 2023 (tentative)

Entrance examination of total 200 marks will be taken as per the following pattern-

For 1 and 2

Paper I– Unseen Translation- 100 marks

Paper II– History of Sanskrit Literature- 100 marks

For 3 to 5

50 mcqs of 2 marks each- 100 marks (100 mcqs to be uploaded on site in advance)

Essay on ‘My intention of joining this course’- 50 marks

Viva/ Interview – 50 marks

You can get syllabi of last years on Mumbai University website under section syllabus or Sanskrit bhavan website under section syllabus but this year syllabi will be as per NEP 2020 is getting revised as per the norms of University of Mumbai and Government of Maharashtra.
