Kenneth Valpey (Research Fellow Oxford Center for Hindu Studies) and Ravi Gupta (Professor, Charles Redd Chair of Religious Studies) visited Department of Sanskrit, University of Mumbai on 15th Dec, 2017 . Faculty members of Sanskrit Department, Ph.D and M.phil students had interaction with the scholars. Apathy towards doing research on Puranas was marked by scholars. It was pointed out that this is the outcome of colonial mentality that Puranic studies are neglected in the recent past. They told about their ongoing research on Bhagavata Purana and highly inspired to understake Bhagavata studies in research areas.
